Nocturne by Frédéric Chopin, opus 27, number 2, accompanied by an animated graphic showing interval type. FAQ Q: Where can I get the sheet music for this piece? A: Sheet music for this can be found here: www.musanim.com Q: Where can I get the MIDI file for this piece www.musanim.com Q: Can I follow the person who made this video on Twitter? A: Sure, Stephen Malinowski’s Twitter ID is: musanim Q: This sure sounds/looks clunky. A: Yeah, I agree. I made a better version; you can see it here: www.youtube.com Q: What do the colors mean? A: Interval types shown with colored lines (however, the color key at the beginning is incorrect: m2/M7 are red, the same as A4/d5.) Q: How can I make this kind of display for my music? A: This type of display is available as the “YARN” display in the MAM Player. www.musanim.com/player/ Q: What piano are you using? A: I believe this is a Yamaha P-80 Q: How and when did you make this rendition? A: I made this rendition in the early days of MIDI (1980s, I think), by laying down left hand and right hand tracks individually, not in real time. Q: Please tell me more about the composer. A: You can read about the composer here en.wikipedia.org Q: How can I make this kind of movie? A: The MAM Player is available here: www.musanim.com .

Woah, I looked at it too long and it made my eyes go funny when I went to looked at the comments!
This is an interesting way to view music, I like it, its different. I am guessing the red lines means the notes are clashing?

idk so much about music qualities (like peddle and stuff). But as ignorant as I may sound, this piece is beautiful to my ears. Anything that takes me someplace else is worth watching, hearing, reading etc. Great job, Stephen.

it is nice but too linear…move the geometry in different directions…outward=bound into the galaxy…less structured mathematical patterns…more flowing and free like the music. But, the graphical elements ere fine–simply a little too predictable. I saw the constellations–now how about some meteors :) Gracias!

Yeah, this music is quite soothing, I must admit. It reminds me of some of the classical moments in 40s film noir.
